Co-Curricular Activities



Western Dance

Dance is a performing art form consisting of purposefully selected sequences of human movement. This movement has aesthetic and symbolic value, and is acknowledged as dance by performers and observers within a particular culture. We at SPA, have western dance class on every Wednesdays for the children as it helps with co-ordination, team work and their self- esteem.



Classical Dance

Classical dance is an Indian dance form. It is very famous form of dance and people are gaining interest about this. Classical dance is a conventional dance enlightening the feelings, emotions or sentiments through dance drama or poetry. This form is portrayed by dignity, poise and precision of movement. It is elaborated by formal gestures, steps, and poses. In SPA we train students in Bharatanatyam with a qualified teacher on every Wednesday.



Karate

In addition to several Physical Activates in our school SPA, we have karate class on every Wednesday in order to improve discipline and mental toughness for the young children. The Karate classes emphasis on exercise and competition.



Silambam

The teaching of Silambam in SPA has the potentiality to contribute flexibility agility, hand-eye co-ordination, strength, speed, muscular endurance and cardio – vascular stamina. We practice it on all Wednesdays



Archery

We are following yet another co-scholastic activity, Archery in our school premise. The students engage and involve themselves in learning archery. Archery is been trained by the qualified experts in SPA to lay the pathway for the young Patricians to excel in aiming a target, and also to develop mental toughness and goal setting. Though this archery, young Patricians learn patience, focus and self motivation.



Skating

Skating classes has been followed in SPA, as a co-scholastic activity. Where it helps students burn off extra energy, build physical fitness and maintain a balanced weight. The students practice at the skating rink in the school premise which helps them to build confidence physically and also for mental growth. The masters excelled in skating trained students to learn tricks and techniques to improve balance in the skating.



Music

As music refreshes the soul, it becomes a part of life. The students of SPA are encouraged to be a part in musical journey. We are following a separate timetable for the music, where students participate and exhibit their skills in vocal and other musical instruments too. As music classes are followed from Class I to VII and students are trained in both vocal and instruments. We have a talented music master who teaches music with more rhythms and tones.



Yoga

Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India. As Children deal with many distractions, temptations, overstimulation and peer pressure, we have yoga class for the children on every Wednesdays and also we give yoga practice for the children after the morning assembly every day. The young patricians get benefitted from :

  • Learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way
  • Manage stress through breathing, awareness, meditation and healthy movement
  • Build concentration
  • Increase their confidence and positive self-image
  • Feel part of a healthy, non-competitive group
  • Have an alternative to tuning out through constant attachment to electronic devices
